INTERNAL CONFERENCE: ISLAMIC COMMUNITY IN THE HISTORIOGRAPHY OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA: TOWARDS A QUALITATIVE MONOGRAPHY
21.12.2016. – In the Gazi Husrev-bey library, an internal conference was organized titled “Islamic Community in the Historiography of Bosnia and Herzegovina: Towards a Qualitative Monography.
The conference was organized by the Institute for Islamic Tradition of Bosniaks, Islamic Community Department for Education and Science and Waqf Directorate B&H. The conference was opened by the Director of IC Department for Education and Science Husein ef. Smajić. The Institute’s director spoke about the entire process of implementing the project of writing a monography of the history of Islamic Community.
The conference was divided into two parts. In the first part the following took part: Dr. Adnan Jahić, Dr. Ismet Bušatlić, Dr. Denis Bećirović, Dr. Fikret Karčić. Their topics were related to the methodology and periodization of writing the history of IC. In the second part the following took part: Dr. Milenko Krešić, Dr. Safet Bandžović, Muhamed Hodžić and Mina Kujović. Dr. Krešić spoke about how the history of the Catholic Church was written. Dr. Bandžović spoke about the problems of territorial and geographic approaches in the history of IC. Mr. Hodzic and Mrs. Kujović spoke about the present possibilities and situation with the archives which can be of vital importance for the above mentioned project.
