13.3.2018. – Dr. Hamed Al-Marwani visited the Institute for Islamic Tradition of Bosniaks where he met with the Director dr. Dževada Šuško and Sumeja Ljevaković-Subašić. Dr. Hamed Al Marwani is a visiting professor of da’wa at the Faculty of Islamic studies. He used his visit to the Institute to learn more about the tradition of Bosniaks. Furthermore, research plans and joint projects were also discussed at the meeting.
A new issue of International Reports which is published by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in English and German languages, contains a article by Dr. Dževada Šuško. The article titled “A Model for Europe? History and Practice of Islam in Bosnia-Herzegovina” is available below:
28 June 2018 – The Institute for Islamic Tradition of Bosniaks in cooperation with the Directorate for Religious Affairs and the Directorate for Education and Science of the Riyaset, and with the support of the Turkish Administration for International Cooperation and Development (TIKA) organized a scientific conference “The Islamic tradition of Bosniaks at the Turn of the Century: Challenges and responses”. The conference was held on 21st December 2017, in Gazi Husrev-bey’s Library. There was a total of 13 scholars who presented their research on the issue of Islamic Tradition of Bosniaks. The conference was attended by eminent scholars, students and general public including a large number of media. A publication of the Conference Proceedings is announced for Spring 2018.
